As a former Art and Design teacher, I have experience of using a wide range of media and techniques. I am a member of several drawing and painting groups, working alongside people who enjoy working independently on their own themes using a range of media. I also exhibit with Altrincham Society of artists.
My inspiration comes from interesting urban and rural landscapes. I have an eclectic range of subject matter ranging from floral studies to natural forms observed on walks in the countryside and buildings photographed on holidays at home and abroad. My latest collection of paintings are of iconic buildings in my home town of Knutsford.
Although I enjoy working with mixed media, my recent paintings are waterccolours. I love the immediacy and the translucent effects achieved by layering washes in this medium.
